The faithful bring offerings of toys to a statue in San Diego Church in Guanajuato to ask the Christ child to intercede to help their loved ones.  The copy reads: "I knew it was wrong, but I would close my eyes tightly and plead for the key to open the treasure chest of toys left with prayers to El Niño."

Restless nights left only this name. Too blind to sense your light. But my grandmother awoke me, her long hair flying behind as she ran up and down the hills of Roanoke. 'Katie. Katie Conway,' they called. Dawn brought affirmation. Katherine."
